Zoabi: ‘Hysterical’ PM Talks Trash About Me

October 12, 2015

Joint List MK Hanin Zoabi on Monday slammed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s speech in the Knesset, in which he sharply criticized Arab MKs for inciting Arabs to violence against Jews and against the state. “

Netanyahu is in hysteria, so he needs an enemy,” said Zoabi. “He is looking for excuses for his failures.”

Speaking at the opening of the Knesset’s winter session, Netanyahu took aim at Arab MKs for their role in inciting violence and justifying attacks, and for denying any Jewish connection to the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.

“The followers of [World War II-era Grad Mufti Haj Amin-al] Husseini claim today with utter insolence that Jews have no connection to this holy place,” he said. Husseini famously forged a pact with Adolf Hitler.

“They say that Jews ‘defile’ the Mount. They repeat again and again the lie that we intend to destroy the Al Aqsa Mosque, or to change the status-quo at the site. Utter lies.”

The truth, he noted, is “entirely the opposite: We are committed to the status quo on the Temple Mount. We strictly protect the holy sites.”

Netanyahu also took aim at Joint List MK Basel Ghattas, who justified the double murder of Eitam and Naama Henkin in front of their children, by saying that “they were settlers and not innocent.”

“Regrettably, within the borders of the State of Israel it is not just the Islamic Movement which incites, and I think it is impossible to deal with this matter without saying this.

Last week, Zoabi said that Arab “resistance” to Jewish activity on the Temple Mount will continue, while also hinting that Israel’s policies paralleled the Nazi regime.

“It’s rude and bullying to compare the demand to defend Muslims’ right to pray at their holy sight to the Nazi regime. Everyone knows who is closer to the Nazi regime – MK Hanin Zoabi or the State of Israel and Minister [Ze’ev] Elkin,” Zoabi told Army Radio. Every time there is an invasion – and this is an invasion and not a right – of settlers, extremists and police, there will be resistance.”

Meanwhile, Arab MK Jamal Zahalka last week harassed police who were allowing Jewish visitors to visit the Temple Mount, going on a rant against police and Israeli officials.

“Iran is no longer an issue, and there is no real left to attack, so all that is left are the Arab MKs,” said Zoabi. “And the sharp words of Hanin Zoabi against the occupation are a comfortable target, and it is possible even to misinterpret and fake them,” she added.
