Woman killed, 3 wounded in shooting incidents in Texas
July 31, 2016A shooting incident in Austin, Texas, has resulted in the death of one woman, and multiple people with gunshot wounds.
According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, a woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene, and 3 more, two women and a man, were evacuated to the UMCB hospital. One more man refused treatment.
The Austin Police Department instructed residents to stay away from the downtown area where the shooting incidents were earlier described as “active”. Police now say the scenes are secure. The police confirmed that there were two separate, and apparently unrelated shootings within the same area.
Footage from an area close to the shooting surfaced online, with loud gunshots heard in the background, causing passersby to scramble to escape from the area.
