Three wounded in car ramming, two in stabbing

Three Border Police officers were lightly wounded slightly before the end of Shabbat on Saturday evening, after a car driven by several Arab terrorists rammed into them at Metzudat Adumim Junction, near Ma’ale Adumim to the east of Jerusalem.

An IDF force that was adjacent to the site of the attack opened fire on the car and wounded three of the terrorists inside. Large security forces were dispatched to the scene.

Magen David Adom (MDA) teams who were called up to the site began treating the wounded victims and evacuated them to hospital, with the officers’ condition defined as lightly wounded.

Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem later reported on receiving the three officers in lightly wounded condition, as well as two Arabs, one a 14-year-old suffering gunshot wounds and the other a 40-year-old with injuries to his jaw.

Meanwhile the third terrorist was brought to Shaare Tzedek Hospital, also in the capital, for treatment of his gunshot wounds to the stomach. He was classified as being in stable condition.

Earlier on Saturday a female Arab terrorist armed with a knife stabbed a soldier adjacent to the Cave of Machpelah in Hevron, where the Jewish patriarchs and matriarchs other than Rachel are buried.

The soldier was lightly wounded in his hand, and in response IDF forces on the scene shot the terrorist and eliminated her.

An initial investigation reveals that she drew the knife which she had hidden in a bag, and then struck the soldier, catching him off guard. A Palestinian Arab man who was on the scene apparently pushed the terrorist to prevent her from harming the soldier further, and the Arab man likewise was stabbed by her.

MDA teams treated the wounded and evacuated the soldier who was suffering from a stab wound in his hand to the hospital, as well as the Palestinian man who was moderately wounded with a wound in his chest.

Shaare Tzedek Hospital announced it had received the 50-year-old Arab man who struggled with the terrorist and who was brought into the trauma unit in stable condition.
