Soldier Seriously Injured after APC Overturns in Golan

May 4, 2015

One IDF soldier was seriously injured Monday morning, when an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) he was traveling in overturned near Matsok Orvim in the Golan Heights.

Three other soldiers were lightly wounded in the incident; all four were transferred to Ziv hospital in Tzfat for treatment.

It is the latest in a series of military-related accidents in recent days.

On Sunday, a soldier was lightly injured when he fell from an APC during a training exercise in the Jordan Valley. He was evacuated to Petah Tikva’s Beilinson hospital for treatment.

And one week ago five soldiers were lightly injured when their army patrol car overturned near Kibbutz Erez, along the border with Gaza. The four were given first aid treatment at the site and taken to Soroka ospital in Beersheva and Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon for further treatment.

The latest accident occurred not long before an unrelated incident in the Golan in which two UN soldiers were injured by mortar fire from the Syrian side of the border.
