Helping Friends Who Don’t Want Help

This is not about financial help or assistance in unloading a car after a shopping trip; rather, when a friend is dealing with abuse or addiction or other social or medical issues that most people would appreciate some help or support to handle.
How do you begin to approach a subject that is sensitive? What kinds of things can we say and do to let friends know we are there for them even if we sense we’ll be repelled. It’s Not easy at all.
