Gaza Rockets Damage Cars and Buildings in Southern Israel

August 20, 2014

The barrage of rockets fired on Israeli civilian populations by Gaza terrorists continued Wednesday morning, after the ceasefire was breached the previous evening.

Shortly after 11 a.m. four rockets fell on the Eshkol Regional Council area, with two of them landing in a local community.

Light damage was caused by the missile volley to several vehicles and buildings, and at least one local resident was suffering from shock after the close and powerful blasts.

Likewise three rockets fired over the course of the night were located in communities in the region, with two of them having caused damage to buildings.

The IDF reports that since Operation Protective Edge began 44 days ago, 4,929 terror targets have been hit in Gaza aided by precise intelligence information. Over the course of Tuesday night over 80 targets were hit in airstrikes.

On Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. the IDF reported that over 10 rockets were fired in the course of the previous hour, making a total of roughly 70 rockets since the ceasefire was breached on Tuesday around 4 p.m.

There has been a steady continuation of rocket fire since 9 a.m., meaning that the current total is likely approaching the 100 mark, although exact figures still have not been assessed.

More to follow.
