Wealth breakdown: Two Likud MKs own five apartments each

Two Likud MKs top the list for the biggest apartment owners in the Knesset, according to official data revealed Friday.

MKs Miki Zohar and Haim Katz each own five homes and apartments, the report said. Katz owns two apartments in Shoham, one in Petah Tikva, and one split into two units in Bnei Brak; Zohar owns all five in Kiryat Gat, where he lives.

Following them is MK Nahman Shai (Zionist Union), who owns four apartments in wealthy neighborhoods: Mevaseret Zion, Tel Aviv, Givatayim, and one abroad.

While Shas chairman Aryeh Deri was rumored to hold several homes “off the books,” he listed two properties in the report: an apartment in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem reportedly worth 5 million shekel ($1.3 million), and a home in Safsufa in the Galilee.

Most of the other party chairmen restrict themselves to two properties at most, with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu himself only owning two – one stately home in Caesarea and one in Jerusalem. Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid also owns two apartments in Ramat Aviv, an exclusive suburb in Tel Aviv’s north.

Meanwhile, Jewish Home chairman Naftali Bennett owns an expensive home in Ra’anana; Zionist Union leader Yitzhak Herzog, a 7 million-shekel ($1.8 million) apartment in Tzalaha, a trendy section of Tel Aviv; and MK Erel Margalit (Zionist Union), a valuable apartment in Jerusalem.

United Torah Judaism leader and Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, meanwhile, lives in a 1.5-bedroom apartment in Jerusalem; fellow chairman MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni, in a four-bedroom apartment in Bnei Brak.

MK Robert Ilatov (Yisrael Beytenu) and Orly Levi-Abekasis (Yisrael Beytenu) have homes under construction.

Several MKs do not own apartments at all.

Of those, MKs Tamar Zandberg (Meretz), Haim Yellin (Yesh Atid), Michal Biran (Zionist Union), Karine Elharar (Yesh Atid), Itzik Shmueli (Zionist Union), Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid), Eitan Broshi (Zionist Union), and Amir Ohana (Likud) rent and have no reported plans to buy; MK Gila Gamliel (Likud) rents, with plans unknown; MK Hilik Bar (Zionist Union) plans to buy soon; and MK Oren Hazan lives with his parents in Ariel.
