US to sell Israel Sea Hawk helicopters, parts

The US State Department has agreed to sell Israel parts for the SH-60F Sea Hawk helicopter as part of a $300 million sale.

The contract is primarily coordinated through General Electric and Science Engineering Services. The sale will include eight AN/APN-217A Doppler radar systems, eight AN/APN-194V altimeters and 12 T-700 GE 401C engines.

Other components, including fuel tanks, video displays, machine guns, radios and testing equipment will also be included.

Separately, Israel bought eight SH-60F Sea Hawks from Sikorsky as part of the Excess Defense Articles program.

The State Department has not said when the parts will be delivered.

Israel will use the helicopters and equipment for search-and-rescue, support and deployment operations.

The SH-60F is based on the Blackhawk helicopter.
