Tel Aviv Voted Among World’s Best Seaside Cities
Tel Aviv has been rated at one of the top 10 seaside cities in the world.
The ranking is part of National Geographic magazine’s report. Tel Aviv joins the likes of Tallinn, Estonia; Saint Johns, Canada; San Diego, Calif.; Marseille, France; Perth and Brisbane, Australia; Durban, South Africa; Vladivostok, Russia; and Portland, Maine on the list.
“There’s plenty of room for beach bathing in this modern Israeli city on the Mediterranean,” National Geographic said of the Israeli city in its write up.
The magazine also noted the rejuvenation of the Jaffa port, adding, “The historic port of Jaffa has found new life in recent years with a vibrant gallery, cafe, and restaurant scene.”
Tel Aviv has been named on a number of high profile travel-related top 10 lists in recent years. Just last year, Twitter users from around the world ranked Tel Aviv as one of the top 10 hottest destinations to visit.
Tel Aviv has also been named smartest city in recent months. The award, which was given as a part of the annual Smart Cities Expo World Congress that was held in Barcelona, recognized Tel Aviv’s initiative in undergoing what Mayor Run Huladi hailed as a “digital revolution.”
