Soldiers Nab Terrorists who Nearly Murdered Woman

Security forces have arrested five young Palestinian Authority Arab men responsible for multiple terrorist attacks, including an attack on a female driver that left a 60-year-old woman fighting for her life.

The arrests were carried out in November, but were revealed only Wednesday with the removal of a gag order.

One of those arrested, 22-year-old Ali Abed Aluhab Sakher Hamamara of Hussan, admitted to hurling the stone that hit Tziona Kala and caused her serious injury. The attack took place south of Jerusalem as the IDF fought to stop rocket attacks from Gaza.

Another four residents of Hussan were arrested for hurling stones at drivers alongside Hamamara. One was identified as Sami Abed Alkhamid Hamamara, 21. The others are minors.

Security forces also recently arrested a terrorist gang based in the Shechem region that targeted motorists. The gang carried out attacks in the region, including by throwing rocks at other cars from moving vehicles and by attempting to shoot at Israeli motorists.

Among the detainees are two minors, one of whom affiliates with Fatah-Tanzim and has admitted to being the head of the terror gang. The other served as a driver and lookout.

The Shin Bet noted that rock attacks from a moving car are particularly severe, and have had tragic results in the past, such as in the murders of Asher and Yonatan Palmer.
