Six people are died and one injured in a deadly shootout in the heart of Pennsylvania, District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said Monday night – and the gunman is still at large. 

Bradley William Stone, 35, of Pennsburg, PA is an ex-marine charged with killing his ex-wife and her mother, grandmother and sister, as well as the sister’s husband and 14-year-old daughter, according to the DA. 

The shooting spree began at about 3:30 am Monday, when he barged into the home of his ex-wife’s sister, Trish Flick, and shot her, her husband Aaron, and her two teenaged children, Anthony (17) and Nina (14). 

Stone then drove several blocks away and shot dead his ex-wife’s mother, Jo Anne Koder, and her 75 year-old grandmother, Patricia Hill, at about 4:25 am.

He finished the shootout by arriving at his ex-wife Nicole Hill Stone’s home at roughly 5:00 am, shooting her, taking his 5 and 8 year-old children and driving off.

The children were found safe Monday morning at a neighbor’s home; of Stone’s victims, only Anthony Flick is alive, and being treated for gunshot wounds in a local hospital. 

SWAT teams have patrolled the various crime scenes in the Pennsylvania town and have combed the area looking for Stone.

Stone is considered “armed and dangerous” and police have warned all local residents to keep vigilant for signs of the shooter, who may have attempted to escape the area after a carjacking was reported at approximately 8:00 pm local time Monday night. The victim shot at the assailant – presumably Stone – using a personal handgun, sending the would-be carjacker sprinting into the woods. 

Stone stands 5′ 10″ and weighs 195 lbs., police say, as well as close-cropped hair and a red beard. He may be wearing green or brown army fatigues. 

He served for over eight years as a reservist in the US Marines until 2011, mainly as a meteorologist – but also served a short stint in Iraq. Family and friends told NBC 10 that he suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
