Report: Mariah Carey to Play in Israel in August

Less than two months after an eventful visit, American pop diva Mariah Carey is due to return.

According to Israel Hayom, Carey will play Israel in August, performing at the Amphi-Park in Rishon LeZion in front of 10,000 fans.

The event is expected to be far smaller than her usual fare, and Carey will give a ‘greatest hits’ concert of fan favorites from across her music career.

Carey will stop by on her way back from a tour in Europe, it added.

The stop is not currently listed on her official website, but an official announcement to the press will be made on Wednesday morning. Tickets will go on sale later Wednesday.

Mariah Carey visited Israel in June on a “pre-engagement trip” with her boyfriend, entrepreneur James Packer, the fourth-richest person in Australia and a staunch supporter of Israel.

During her stay, she stopped at the Western Wall (Kotel), visited Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and the Dead Sea, and met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah.
