This weekend, Israel police prevented Palestinian Authority Arabs from carrying out a terror attack on the Jewish town of Elon Moreh, located in hills of Samaria (Shomron).

But Arabs succeeded in carrying out a massive rock attack against a Jewish daycare center in the heart of the ancient holy Judean city of Hevron, home to the Cave of the Patriarchs, burial place of the Biblical forefathers and their wives.

In Samaria, police arrested two terrorists Saturday night initially for hurling firebombs (Molotov cocktails) at vehicles on a road in Samaria. But it soon became clear they had more serious plans – and police added the charge of plotting a terror attack on the town. 

Officers who searched the pair as a routine part of the arrest process found grenades and more firebombs.

They also found a letter in Arabic claiming responsibility for an attack on Elon Moreh in the name of the Fatah-linked Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terrorist gang.

Since no attack had yet been perpetrated on the town, it is believed that the two were on their way to carry it out.

The declaration of responsibility was written on official Al Aqsa Brigades letterhead. The two terrorists have been charged with planning to attack the town and are being held in custody.
