Obama and Romney to Debate Foreign Policy

U.S. President Barack Obama’s campaign has come up with an ad saying Romney is not an appropriate choice for global leadership.

“His actions have proven that, on every measure, Romney has already failed the commander-in-chief test,” said a statement from the campaign.

The ad harps on Romney’s “reckless, amateurish” trip to England last July, before the Olympic Games as well as short stints in Israel and Poland and then goes on to complain of his “knee-jerk response” to violent demonstrations, including terror attacks, in the Middle East.

“If this is how he handles the world now, just think what Mitt Romney might do as president,” says the ad.

Speaking about Mitt Romney’s foreign policy, Madeline Albright, a former secretary of State for Democratic President Bill Clinton said during a 20 minute press call on Monday: “I find him very shallow. … If one of my students turned it in, he’d get a C…”

She also condemned Romney for wanting to put conditions on Egyptian aid, which “is very much needed now in order to make sure that they are able to pursue what is good for us and for them in terms of getting people back on the right track and the job issues,” she said, according to the website The DailyCaller.  “[I]f you load conditions on [aid],” she said “you can’t get anything done because you completely lose your leverage.”

Since the September 11 attack on U.S. embassies in the Middle East, in which Ambassador Stevens and three other US citizens were murdered  in Benghazi, Libya and after especially violent riots in Egypt, House Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Relations Chairwoman Rep. Kay Granger “has frozen a planned transfer” of $450 million in aid to Egypt, according to The Daily Caller.

On October 16 and 22, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are slated to debate foreign policy.
