Jewish Home chairman and Economy Minister Naftali Bennett made a late-night visit to Hevron in the early hours of Friday morning, where he prayed at the Cave of Machpelah and visited the gravesite of the Jewish patriarch Yitzhak (Isaac), which is usually closed to Jews.
Bennett also met with Hevron Brigade Commander Yariv Ben Ezra. Jewish Home MKs Orit Struk, Shuli Muallem-Refaeli, and candidate Nir Orbach were also in attendance. The entire party was flanked by heavy security.
“We have returned to Hevron to stay there – forever,” Bennett stated to the press. “Those who love the Land of Israel: Hevron is the foundation for us being in Tel Aviv and Haifa. It’s the city that gives us the moral right to the Land of Israel.”
