Lapid: We Will Fight Netanyahu’s Corruption

Elections may be over but Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid is still finding things to gripe at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu about.

Writing on Facebook Thursday morning, Lapid attacked Netanyahu after reports surfaced that the Prime Minister plans to increase the number of ministers serving in his next government.

“It’s forbidden to increase the government to more than 18 ministers. That’s your money,” Lapid wrote, addressing constituents. “It’s hundreds of millions of shekels that could go to daycare centers or to help lower prices.”

According to the reports, Likud is looking into the possibility of changing the governance law passed by the previous government, which reduced the number of ministers in the cabinet from 22 to 18.

“Netanyahu voted in favor of this bill, together with all of the Likud,” Lapid, the sponsor of the initial bill, blasted. “What’s their excuse this time? Political expediency? Work arrangements?”

“This is corruption,” Lapid alleged, “and we will fight against it in the Knesset and in the Supreme Court if necessary. What do they think, that because elections are over, the fight had ended? It’s just beginning.”

Lapid, who served as finance minister under Netanyahu’s previous government, will likely be sitting in the opposition of the 20th Knesset.
