A Dutch-Jewish woman was stabbed at a kosher restaurant in the Jewish quarter of Amsterdam on Monday night.
She suffered lightly to moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The attacker turned himself in to police, according to local reports. The background to the incident is unclear, and it remains to be determined whether it was an anti-Semitic attack.
In January, the home of a Jewish family in Amsterdam became the target of an anti-Semitic attack.
Dutch media reports said that during the New Year festivities held in the city, a number of local youth began rioting and sought to release their anger on Jews.
While shouting “Jews Cancer” and “liberate Palestine,” they kicked down the door and broke windows of the house where a Jewish family resides, causing extensive damage.
A report last year said that there was an increase of 71% in anti-Semitic incidents in the Netherlands in 2014 compared to 2013.
The report, by the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI), a Dutch monitor, found that 100 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in the Netherlands in 2013, compared to 171 in 2014.
