IDF troops arrested on Friday night two Palestinian Authority Arabs as they were approaching the town of Beit El in the Binyamin region.
An IDF spokesman told Arutz Sheva on Saturday evening that “last night two Palestinians were caught under suspicious circumstances at the entrance to Beit El.”
A search of the two suspects found tires and burning materials, said the spokesperson.
The soldiers interrogated the two Arabs and then transferred them to the Israeli police.
PA Arabs continuously try to enter Jewish communities and harm residents. This happens in both the PA-assigned areas of Judea and Samaria as well as in Hamas-controlled Gaza.
A serious incident took place in November in the agricultural community of Sde Avraham, during which a mother fought off an armed terrorist, saving herself and her young children.
The terrorist entered Israel from Gaza near the Kerem Shalom crossing, breaching a “smart fence” that warns of infiltration. The warning sounded, but was not dealt with.
Last year, an Arab from east Jerusalem infiltrated into Beit El and even broke into a home before being caught.
The Arab had managed to enter the town using a car with Israeli license plates.
