The IDF’s Judea and Samaria Division Commander, Brig. Gen. Tamir Yadai, visited the Har Hevron Authority Thursday and met Authority Head Tzviki Bar Hai.
The two discussed the security of the Har Hevron communities and on the roads between them.
Bar Hai demanded that Yadai beef up IDF forces in the face of the upsurge in rock and firebomb terror attacks. Yadai said that a company of soldiers may be stationed at Adorayim, in order to provide security for the area.
The two men toured the ancient Hebrew city of Susya, observed the region from atop the Council’s office building at Meytarim and visited the new regional emergency center at Adorayim.
The Division Commander’s visit was scheduled following Wednesday’s attack on a military vehicle near Hevron. Arabs attacked an IDF jeep with firebombs during the Shavuot holiday, causing it to overturn and catch fire. Two of the soldiers were taken to Soroka Hospital in Beersheva and they are reportedly suffering from second and third degree burns. Two other soldiers were slightly hurt.
