Leah Hasno, the daughter of Avraham Hasno, is not consoled by the impending demolition of the home of the Arab terrorist who murdered her father.

“It is absurd that they’re going to check the measurements of the house and what they can demolish and what not to demolish,” Hasno told Arutz Sheva on Thursday, after IDF engineering units overnight made preparations for the demolition. Just this Tuesday the family of an Arab terrorist bought a villa on donations after their home was demolished.

“Here they destroyed an entire family and no one checked. Does anyone think that you can measure life in belongings? Whole families were destroyed, and the response of Israel is to measure homes, I would rather that they made sure there are no more tragedies like this.”

Hasno, a resident of Kiryat Arba, was murdered last October at the Al Fawar junction near Hevron. After being ambushed by Arab rock throwers, Hasno left his vehicle to chase off his attackers, but was intentionally run over and murdered by Sahban Wael At-Titi of Dahariya, near Hevron.

An Arutz Sheva analysis of photographic evidence of the incident revealed the driver, who turned himself in to Palestinian police claiming it was an accident, ran over Hasno at least twice, in an act of cold-blooded murder. After Palestinian police released him in March, Israel arrested the terrorist.

Leah Hasno noted that Passover is approaching in another two weeks, and this will be the first time they observe the holiday without her father.

“It will be particularly hard for us, every year on the seder night we had a special Passover, the table was on the floor as in olden times, and dad would dress up as Moshe rabbeinu (Moses).”

The bereaved daughter said, “this year we’re planning to run away from reality. My dad was a man who went for all the truth. When he believed in it, he went with it to the end. He got out of the car because they came to kill him, and we were left without dad.”

“And today our truth says an eye for an eye, a life for a life, destroying the house really doesn’t matter to us and doesn’t console us,” she said, implying that Israel should use its death penalty against the murderous terrorist – a move that many have called for but the government last July voted down.

Turning her attention to the soldier who shot a wounded terrorist in Hevron two weeks ago and currently is on trial on manslaughter charges, Hasno said she gives the soldier full backing. He has argued he shot over concerns the terrorist was moving to detonate a hidden bomb belt.

“We are behind him the most, we were at all the events to support him,” she said, noting the family’s backing of the soldier.

“Actually in the case of my dad, the soldiers didn’t dare to leave the pillbox (guard post – ed.), and that’s why my dad was murdered, that’s also what the brigade commander who visited us said, that they messed up, and just like that a family was destroyed and there were other cases like this.”

“This soldier from Hevron did what needed to be done, he is a symbol of the nation of Israel,” she added, and quoted the famous adage of the Jewish sages: “when someone comes to kill you – kill him first.”

Hasno concluded by saying the terrorists “need to know that no one will mess with the nation of Israel.”
