Gaza Allowed to Sell Produce in Judea and Samaria

Agricultural products and fish from the Hamas-stronghold of Gaza will begin to be marketed in Judea and Samaria starting Thursday, in the latest “gesture” made following the latest Hamas terror war on Israel.

Israeli “gestures” since the latest war have already included entry to Judea and Samaria without a permit for foreign “Palestinian” children, visits from Gaza to terrorist relatives in jailallowing 500 Gazans to pray on the Temple Mount where Jews are forbidden to pray, expanding the Gaza maritime borders despite systemic breaches, and transferring building supplies despite the rebuilding of terror tunnels.

The latest ease was approved as part of economic and civil measures, decided by Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) head Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai.

These types of measures have been made to stimulate Gaza’s economy, aside from the $5.4 billion pledged by world nations to the Hamas enclave last month.

The District Coordination Office and Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (in Gaza) held a joint conference in which they discussed the needs and requirements of all parties involved for the purpose of going ahead with the new initiative.

The conference was attended by representatives from Gaza’s economic sector, Gazan farmers, UN officials, representatives from the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, and Kerem Shalom crossing administrators representing the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier this week, Israel announced approval for the construction of a Coca Cola factory in the Karni industrial area of Gaza.

The first round of agricultural products to be sent to market include 10 tons of cucumbers which were transferred from Gaza to Hevron. On Sunday, tons of fresh fish are expected to be sent from Gaza to be marketed in Judea and Samaria as well.

Agricultural products will be transferred through the Kerem Shalom border crossing.
