As of midnight, Channel 1‘s exit poll results predicted the following results for Tuesday’s national election:
Likud 27 MKs
Labor 26
Yesh Atid 11
Kulanu 9
Joint Arab List 12
Jewish Home 8
UTJ 6
Shas 7
Meretz 5
Yisrael Beytenu 5
Yachad 4
Netanyahu appears to be the winner in the election, since the close result will make it very difficult for Kulanu head Moshe Kahlon and Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman to justify to their mostly right-wing voters a decision to support Labor.
A possible coalition would include Likud, UTJ, Shas, Yisrael Beytenu, Jewish Home, Yachad and Kulanu, with a total of 70 MKs.
Channel 2‘s exit poll gives Likud 28 to Labor’s 27.
Channels 2 and 10 give Jewish Home only 8 MKs, and give the Joint Arab List 13 MKs.
