Youth Banned from Judea-Samaria for Six Months

October 6, 2015

A 23-year-old Jewish resident of Samaria was banned this week from entering Judea and Samaria for a period of six months.

The administrative order, signed by IDF Central Command chief Roni Numa, mandates the young man remain in Modi’in Illit or elsewhere within the 1949 Armistice Lines until April 1.

In addition, should he choose to stay in Modi’in Illit, he will be under house arrest at night as well as banned from contact with 11 people.

As is the case with administrative orders, a relic from the British mandate, no evidence of any wrongdoings or trial was needed in order to take the action against the youth.

Shmuel Meidad, the CEO of legal aid organization Honenu, blasted the administrative order as a twisted reaction to Arab terror.

“The defense establishment’s utter lack of control against Arab terrorism is probably the psychological factor behind the radical and illegitimate measures against our brothers from the Jewish sector.”

“I urge them to come to their senses and stop allowing this insane psychology control their conduct,” Meidad added.

On Simchat Torah eve on Sunday, police forces from Ariel arrested a number of Samaria residents. In addition, on Monday a Jew was arrested on suspicion of throwing rocks at Palestinian Arabs in the area.
