US: 6-year-old accidentally shoots and kills 4-year-old brother
June 26, 2016A 4-year-old boy was tragically killed in an accident involving a firearm on Saturday morning. The boy’s older brother, 6, was playing with a gun belonging to the children’s mother when the accident occurred. The boys were in their home in East Orange, New Jersey.
The child underwent surgery for a head wound at University Hospital in Newark, but died 3 hours later.
The mother, Itiyanah Spruill, has been charged with a weapons violation and endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said. She was present in the home at the time of the shooting, and it is unclear at this time how the child got hold of the gun
