Suspects in Kindergarten Arson Sentenced to Prison
July 22, 2015Video footage of two extremist Israelis who set a bilingual kindergarten alight in November 2014 has been released to the public Wednesday night, in light of the district court’s decision to sentence brothers Shlomo and Nachman Tuito to prison for their actions.

Judge Zvi Segal ruled that Shlomo (20) will serve two years in prison; Nachman (18), 2.5.
The two brothers are from Beitar Illit; both are part of the controversial anti-assimilation Lehava organization, according to Walla! News.
The two allegedly committed the crime to protest tensions between Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem, and also against the backdrop of the school holding a ceremony honoring Yasser Arafat, the arch-terrorist behind the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), or the terror organization behind the Palestinian Authority (PA).
The judge’s decision is a severe blow to the prosecution, which sought to impose on the two a 4-7 prison sentence.
The third suspect, Yitzhak Gabai (22) of Jerusalem, is awaiting further court hearings after refusing to accept a plea bargain.
Gabai’s lawyer Itamar Ben Gvir responded to the court’s decision Wednesday, stating to Arutz Sheva that “this sentence is not easy. I suggest not to underestimate the sending of young men with no criminal record to jail, but however it’s already caused the prosecution to reassess their claim after they sought to impose on the defendants sentences of four to seven years in prison.”
“Such penalties the Prosecutor’s Office does not ask even for those who commit arson on synagogues or desecrate Jewish graves on the Mount of Olives”, Ben-Gvir stressed. “The feeling is that there is a policy of discrimination between Jews and Arabs.”
The kindergarten was vandalized and set ablaze in November, and graffiti with anti-Arab phrases was found scrawled on its walls. One week later, the Central Unit of the Border Police and the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) arrested several suspects.
