Reporter Recounts Violent Anti-Semitic Attack at Galloway Event
May 6, 2015Extreme leftist George Galloway’s hometown of Bradford has become openly anti-Semitic, Politico reporter Ben Judah revealed on Wednesday – after he was threatened, attacked, and booted from an event for Galloway he was covering for the news agency.
Judah coordinated his visit with Bradford officials, he noted in his article on the incident, but was soon booted from the event by the PR person for Galloway’s party, Respect, after she revealed his identity as a Jew and a Galloway critic.
The crowd at the event soon began turning against Judah, calling for attendees to force him to delete his photos of the event – and, eventually, leading to outright assault.
In his article, Judah described how one of the attendees called him a “f**king Jew” as the crowd began to beat him:
A burly Asian man in a black suit and sunglasses rushes up and grabs me round the neck, pinning me to a low perimeter wall. “Get out, you f*cking Jew,” he shouts. I am being throttled as around ten Asian men surround me. My teeth chatter as a man in a tracksuit punches me in the head.
“Delete, delete,” they shout at me, “delete the photos.”
Judah wrote to Galloway and the Bradford City Council leader, Aylas Karmani, over the incident.
Galloway responded by accusing Judah of staging the assault.
“This is quite clearly a stunt by you and a deliberate provocation and the timing of it confirms that this is a calculated attempt to smear me and affect my electoral prospects,” he claimed.
Karmani supported Judah and vehemently opposed how he was treated at the event – at which he himself was present.
Judah reported the incident to the police and to Britain’s watchdog group, the Community Security Trust.
As leader of the far-left Respect Party, Galloway has been repeatedly accused of anti-Semitism for incendiary remarks and vocal opposition to any Jewish right to self-determination in Israel.
Galloway most recently hit headlines after declaring his constituency an “Israel-free zone”, prompting charges of racism.
He was similarly branded a racist after walking out of a public debate when he found out his opponent was Israeli, snarling “I don’t debate with Israelis.”
