PA Submits Document to ICC Over ‘Settler Terrorism’

August 3, 2015

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has submitted a document to the International Criminal Court (ICC) protesting “settler terrorism” in the arson attack last week in Duma which killed an infant and wounded four others.

According to the Palestinian news agency Ma’an, PA Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki presented the document to ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensada on Monday afternoon.

He also updated Bensada on “dangerous developments” in the PA and urged the Court to prosecute Israel for the “occupation,” it added.

Even though the identity of the attackers is not yet known, the IDF has said it suspects Jewish extremists were behind the attack due to Hebrew graffiti found at the site.

Apparently, that was enough for PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to go directly to the ICC, after the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) terror group that he chairs blamed the Israeli government for the arson.

The PA on April 1 joined the ICC, in a unilateral move that is a breach of the 1993 Oslo Accords which created the PA.
