Khamenei Calls for ‘Fake Zionist Regime’ to Disappear
August 15, 2012Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, once again expressed hope on Wednesday that Israel would be wiped off the map.
The Iranian Mehr news agency quoted Khamenei as having expressed confidence that the “Palestinians” will eventually retake control of their motherland.
“The light of hope will shine on the Palestinian issue, and this Islamic land will certainly be returned to the Palestinian nation, and the superfluous and fake Zionist (regime) will disappear from the landscape of geography,” Khamenei said during a meeting with a number of Iranian war veterans who were prisoners of war during the Iran-Iraq war between 1980 and 1988.
The statements come ahead of “Al Quds (Jerusalem) Day,” which marks the Friday before the conclusion of the month of Ramadan. The day was established in 1979 by Ayatollah Khomeni as a way for the Arab-Muslim world to express support for the “Palestinian cause” and the “liberation of Jerusalem.”
The original declaration states that Israel is “the enemy of mankind, the enemy of humanity, which is creating disturbances every day and is attacking our brothers…”
Iran’s leaders have regularly called to wipe Israel off the map. Several weeks ago, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad labeled Israel “the axis of unity of the world hegemonic powers.”
“It has now been some 400 years that a horrendous Zionist clan has been ruling the major world affairs, and behind the scenes of the major power circles, in political, media, monetary and banking organizations in the world, they have been the decision makers…” the Iranian president claimed.
“The Zionist regime is both the symbol of the hegemony of the Zionism over the world and the means in the hand of the oppressor powers for expansion of their hegemony in the region and in the world,” he went on.
In June, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi condemned the ‘Zionists’ for inciting global drug trade and addiction in a bid to annihilate non-Jewish communities. Rahimi, who spoke at a UN-sponsored conference, alleged that the prevalence of narcotics and drug-addiction throughout the world is rooted in the Talmud.
