‘Jewish terror’ – or road rage?

February 14, 2016

Shlomi Katzav, a 45 year old resident of Karnei Shomron, was indicted this morning over his alleged involvement in an ax attack committed last week against an Arab driver near the entrance of Karnei Shomron.

The incident, which was widely suspected to be have been a nationalistically-motivated attack, has been described by the defendant as a bad case of road rage.

Katzav claims the Arab driver cut him off while driving on Route 55 near the Arab village of Azoun on the way to Karnei Shomron.

According to the indictment, the defendant honked at the driver then pulled ahead of him, only to be cut off again as each sought to block the other on the narrow one-lane road.

After finally pulling ahead, Katzav pulled over by the entrance to Karnei Shomron and flung an ax towards the Arab driver.

The ax smashed through the windshield and landed between the driver’s legs without causing injury.
