Israel locks down Arab town after attack near Neve Daniel
February 9, 2016The Israeli army locked down a Palestinian village in Judea on Tuesday, as part of efforts to find the Arab terrorist who stabbed a Jewish man from a nearby town.
An army spokeswoman said only “humanitarian cases” would be let in and out of Nahalin, southwest of Bethlehem and a short distance from the Jewish community of Neve Daniel.
A 28-year-old Israeli man was stabbed at the entrance to the town while out jogging. He was taken to a Jerusalem hospital in moderate condition, with stab wounds in the upper body.
The army said forces were still searching the area five hours after the attack took place.
The incident bore the hallmarks of Palestinian attacks over the past four months targeting Israeli security and civilians across the country. The wave of terror that erupted in October has claimed the lives of 31 Israelis and wounded over 300 more.
Earlier Tuesday, a 13-year-old Palestinian girl was arrested at the entrance to Karmei Tzur in Gush Etzion, after a knife was found on her.
And at the Damascus Gate entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City, a 16-year-old Palestinian girl was arrested after attempting to stab police officers and then fleeing. Nobody was injured.
