Israel Has the Right to Defend Itself

The United Nations has frequently and disproportionately singled out Israel for exercising its basic right of self-defense. Like every other nation, Israel has an inherent right to defend its citizens. In responding to attacks to protect its citizens, Israel takes unprecedented precautions to limit civilian casualties.

Israel has a right to self-defense.
Like every other nation, Israel has an inherent right to defend its citizens from terrorist attacks and threats to their existence. Israel has faced an unprecedented wave of suicide and rockets attacks during the past decade and must protect its citizens.

The Israel Defense Forces is a moral fighting force.
The IDF is a moral fighting force that has strict guidelines and policies, and goes above and beyond any other fighting force in the world to avoid civilian casualties. The IDF also has a track record of thoroughly investigating any breaches of their ethical code.

The United States strongly backs Israel’s right to self-defense.
The United States has repeatedly backed Israel’s right to defend its citizens in the face of ongoing attacks and rejected attempts by the United Nations and others to question this right.
