IDF Instructs Soldiers: Don’t Sleep on Buses

October 13, 2015

The IDF has issued a new set of procedural guidelines for soldiers as Israel continues to battle a latest wave of violent Arab terror.

Originating in the Tel HaShomer base, the directives have also circulated to a number of additional military bases in the Jewish state.

Commanders at the Tel HaShomer base in central Israel have received several warnings of likely attempts by terrorists to stab or run over soldiers in the area, prompting the new guidelines.

Soldiers have been directed to abide by a number of security precautions, including a moratorium on sleeping while traveling by bus or while waiting at public transportation stations.

Commanders have also instructed soldiers to avoid walking on roads and curbs in case of car terror attacks.

In addition to listing the new directives, commanders also briefed soldiers on the need to maintain personal vigilance.
