Elections Polls: Who is First, Likud or Labor?

February 26, 2015

Differing polls place Likud and Labor in very different spots for the 20th Knesset elections Thursday, after one poll places the two at a tie and another gives Labor a clear victory.

Channel 1 poll published Thursday night gives Labor and Likud 24 seats each, followed by 12 seats each for Jewish Home, Yesh Atid, and the Arab parties.

Kulanu, United Torah Judaism (UTJ), and Shas tie as well at seven seats each; bottoming out this set of results are Yisrael Beytenu at 6 seats, and Meretz and Yachad-Ha’am Itanu at 5 seats each.

A second poll by Channel 10 Thursday night gives Labor a clear victory, however, with 23 seats, versus Likud at just 21.

Yesh Atid is projected to be the third-largest party in the Knesset with 13 seats, followed by Jewish Home and the Arab parties at 12 seats each.

Kulanu fares slightly better in this projection at nine seats, followed by Shas and UTJ at seven seats each.

Bottoming out this poll are Yisrael Beytenu at 6 seats, and Meretz and Yachad-Ha’am Itanu once again at 5 seats each.

Despite the win for Labor, respondents still favored Prime Minister Binaymin Netanyahu (42%) over Labor leader Yitzhak Herzog (37%).
