Drew Barrymore to Convert and Raise Her Baby Jewish

February 2, 2013

Hollywood sweetheart Drew Barrymore and new husband, Will Kopelman, plan to raise their new baby, Olive, in the Jewish faith.

During an interview on “The View,” Barrymore discussed converting to Judaism and her decision to raise her newborn within the religion.

“I’m a shiksa. I do the seders and we do Passover,” she said.

“I haven’t converted yet, (but) Olive will be raised traditionally. We had a very traditional wedding ceremony with Rabbi Rubenstein and I did the ketubah. We wore the yarmulkes and we did the chuppah.”

“I’m there, I love
it! It’s a beautiful faith and I’m so honored to be around it. It’s so family-oriented… The stories are so beautiful and it’s incredibly enlightening. I’m really happy.”

Barrymore’s daughter, Olive, is only a few months old, born in October 2012. She is the actress’s first child.

I love Drew Barrymore and I love her even more that she is a family orientated woman. I am happy she is choosing a faith like Judaism and making it a priority in her family and to be closer to god. GO DREW!
